In the last few weeks, the emergence of the new Omicron Covid variant is bringing fresh concerns and discussions of renewed restrictions as we approach the Christmas period.

When we announced our Peterborough PR & Media Awards we promised we would monitor the situation and take necessary steps to ensure the safety of attendees.

It is with that in mind that we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our award ceremony until the new year.

We have not made the decision lightly but, with so much uncertainty still swirling about the severity and impact of this variant, we would hate for our event to be reason that someone can’t spend Christmas with their family.

By postponing it will allow us to keep our commitment to the local small businesses – the caterers, venue and other suppliers that are facilitating the event – in what has been a difficult time for the hospitality sector.

Be ready to celebrate in the new year!

While we won’t be able to meet this year, we can’t wait to celebrate the amazing work of our communications community in the new year – and an update will be issued in due course to confirm a revised date for the ceremony.
