Education has been at the heart of our work for over 15 years. We’re proud to play a part in helping schools thrive and pupils flourish. Among the many highlights in the academic calendar, exam results days stand out as one of the most fast-paced and rewarding.
With thousands of schools vying for media attention on A Level and GCSE Results Days, how can one school stand out?
Last year, we were tasked with delivering maximum media coverage, social media engagement, and positive press for our range of school clients, across the busiest period in the education sector.
Our key objectives included securing broadcast, print, and digital coverage, showcasing standout student stories, supporting media activity and creating a celebratory buzz on social media.
To get ahead of the results day rush each year, we prepare in advance. From July, we’re working with headteachers and senior school leaders to gather key information and prepare tailored draft press releases, social media graphics and confirming regional broadcast coverage with journalists and producers. This proactive approach helps guarantee schools are front and centre when the spotlight is on in August.
A level results day: the first test
When it came to last year’s results day, the first week was all about A levels. When schools receive their results, they confidentially share highlights with us, allowing us to finalise press releases and, where possible, provide journalists with embargoed content.
We also encouraged schools to post a “good luck” message the day before, using engaging graphics to help them stand out. This is part of a wider approach, which is about ensuring schools’ messaging is in the right place at the right time, with the right info and support for students – before, during and after results day.
Meanwhile, we confirmed final details with broadcast outlets and assigned team members to be onsite at priority schools the next morning, offering real-time support wherever it’s needed most.
Thursday was an early start. We arrived at schools before students and media to help manage interviews and capture quality photo and video content. Back at the office, we finalised press materials, monitored coverage, and began distributing content across social channels.

GCSEs: Doing it all again… but bigger!
Just one week later, it’s GCSE Results Day – this time with nearly double the number of schools involved. But the process remains the same: collecting students’ stories on Wednesday, coordinating media coverage, and providing onsite support from 7am on the Thursday.
Once again, our goal is simple but powerful: to celebrate and elevate student achievement, and to raise the reputation of schools through press releases, meaningful media engagement, and standout social media content.
The first piece of coverage is always a moment of collective relief – it’s a sign that the weeks of preparation are paying off. The energy in the office was fuelled by caffeine, snacks, adrenaline, and most of all, teamwork.

Making an impact that lasts
Results Day is one of the most intense, rewarding periods in our calendar, but it’s so much more than just one day.
For schools, it’s an opportunity to tell touching stories of aspiration, ambition and achievement. It brings together months of hard work, decision-making, and above all, phenomenal teamwork.
And for us, it’s important to capture those stories through wholesome moments like this…
