Nene Park Academy, Oundle Road, Orton Longville, has teamed up with leisure and fitness brand [email protected] to provide an opportunity for the local community to share its new state of the art gym and fitness centre. The gym officially opens on Monday 7 January and will be providing free class sessions until 13 January 2013.
The new fitness facility is part of the Academy’s £14.25 million transformation, aims to provide a modern education environment which is the hub of the community. The new building is part of the revamp project of the Academy site which also includes new classrooms, a grass amphitheatre and new dining facilities.
Steve Howard, Vice Principal at Nene Park Academy, said, “We’re thrilled with our new fitness facilities and want to make sure that we make the most of it. That’s why we teamed up with [email protected] to enable the local community share them with us.
“It’s a great opportunity for everyone to benefit from including the students, staff, parents and the community”, he added. “This is a partnership we will relish as it means we will be giving back to the community”.
The Academy will have sole use of the centre during the day for PE lessons but in the evening it will be open to the community with a wide variety of fitness classes ranging from Zumba, Bokwa, and spinning through to classics like old school aerobics, and use of a small state of the art gym.
[email protected] at Nene Park Academy’s manager, Catherine Graver, shares the Academy’s enthusiasm for the partnership. “We’re excited to be working with Nene Park Academy. The facilities are great and we want to bring a new and recharged way to help people get results.”
“The free sessions are ways of letting the community have a feel of the new gym facilities without committing them to an initial monthly contract.
“We have some of Peterborough’s most experienced and talented fitness professionals on board and will be offering studio only memberships from as little as £17 a month. Our studio programme is designed to offer affordable fitness classes for everyone with no lengthy contracts”.
The classes will run from 5pm during the week and start at 9am on the weekends. Full details of the timetable are now available on the website at www.rechargefitness.co.uk.
