LarkfleetHomes announce proposals for 58 new homes on an allocated site in Eye

Local housing developer, Larkfleet Homes, part of the Larkfleet Group, is bringing forward proposals for a development of 58 new homes along Thorney Road in Eye.

The proposed site for development is on land that is already allocated for housing in Peterborough’s Core Strategy and is situated to the east of, and directly adjacent to Larkfleet Homes’existing residential development, Parson’s Prospect.

The new homes that are being proposed will be a mixture of houses for market sale as well as affordable homes. There is a need for both affordable and market homes in the area and it is hoped that the proposed development will go some way to meeting this local need.

A newsletter is being distributed to local residents providing information about the proposals along with details about a public exhibition that is being held on Wednesday 23 January 2013 between 11am and 6pm at Leeds Hall, High Street, Eye. Local people are being encouraged to attend and members of the project team from Larkfleet Homes will be on hand to answer questions about the proposals.

Larkfleet Group strongly believes in supporting all the communities that they work in to improve the local area, so it has recently introduced a new Community Fund which will directly benefit the communities where they have developments.

In Eye, for every house that could be built as a part of this new development, Larkfleet Group will donate £500 to the Fund – with a potential total of £29,000.  Larkfleet is keen for local people to decide how the money is spent, whether that may be put towards enhancing public open spaces, or improving village amenities.  The fund does not depend on the support of local residents, nor is it subject to the Parish Council’s backing for these proposals.

David Connolly, Land Director at Larkfleet Group, said “Our proposals for these 58 homes will go some way to meet local housing needs.  We are keen to consult local people on these proposals and we urge residents to come along to the public exhibition to ask questions and share their views.”
